Description de CEDCOGS
A brief history of CEDCOGS
The Centre for Education and Community Development of the Great South (CEDCOGS) is a grassroots non-profit organization specializing in various areas of social development.
It originated in two different municipalities with the agreement of two groups of people who share a common vision of taking the initiative to come together to move forward in social and economic development activities.
It was founded in November 2021 in Sault-du-Baril under the name “Centre for Education and Community Development of Sault-du-Baril (CEDCOS).
At the same time, another group of people in the municipality of Saint-Louis du Sud organized itself to form a grassroots organization that would allow them to work alongside the community with the aim of bringing about social change.
Under the request of one of the leaders of the Sault-du-Baril group, the Saint-Louis-du-Sud group is merging with CEDCOS to form a single organization.
Thus, a slight change is reflected in the acronym by adding a “G” to change from CEDCOS to CEDCOGS, from which comes the name “Centre for Education and Community Development” of the Greater South (CEDCOGS).
Thanks to this merger, it has constantly expanded its action plan in order to work alongside all the inhabitants of the greater South.
